Harness racing television personality Justin Le Lievre has been appointed stallion sales manager for the Canterbury based stud - Wai Eyre Farm. The Trackside TV presenter started his new position this week. He will continue to work on television.

Le Lievre, who has an immense knowledge of the industry, said he was excited about his new venture.

"This is a great opportunity to work with one of New Zealand's most notable stud farms. I'm also looking forward to dealing with some of the world's most popular stallions, especially Christian Cullen and new acquisition Stonebridge Regal," Le Lievre said.

Christian Cullen's deeds on the racetrack are well known but Stonebridge Regal was also a racing star winning 15 of his 45 starts and $1m in stakes. His fastest winning mile time was 1:48.1.

In fact Le Lievre said Stonebridge Regal was the fastest son of super-sire Artsplace. His dam Lady Joanna, who won 31 races, also left another 1:48.1 winner - that being a son of Life Sign named Lease On Life.

But Le Lievre informed would-be breeders that there was more to Wai Eyre Stud than just Christian Cullen and Stonebridge Regal.

"Christian Cullen's son Gotta Go Cullen is an exciting proposition as is Ohoka Arizona. Throw in Angus Hall, Monkey Bones, and Klondike Kid, and you've got absolute quality. There are more stallions as well. If anyone wants to have a one to one chat about any of our sires please give me a ring on 021 865745," Le Lievre said.
