HARRINGTON, Del. – Driver Victor Kirby had a memorable 44th birthday Monday at Harrington Raceway, winning four races on the 12-race harness racing program.
Kirby got it started in the $10,000 sub-feature, as Janet Hudson and trainer Joann Looney-King's Little Ben ($10, Kirby) scored a 1:52.2 victory. Kirby scored again with Gallic Beach ($3.60), when he recorded a 1:53.2 win on the undercard in a $11,000 conditioned pace with a front-end score for trainer John Wilkerson. Kirby later piloted Western Rocker ($5.80) and Real Tough ($4.40) to victory for the grand slam.
Howard Taylor, Robert Cooper Stables, Abraham Basen and Thomas Lazzaro's Arque Hanover ($2.40, Jon Roberts) had a successful local debut with a 1:52.1 win in the $15,000 Open Pace feature.
Recently acquired for new connections and trainer Dylan Davis, the 4-year-old Rock N Roll Heaven stallion has two wins in three starts for his new stable.
The 1-to-5 favorite, Arque Hanover left the gate from post position four and seized the early lead from Framed Art through an opening quarter mile time in 28.1 seconds. Not much changed to the half-mile in 57.3 seconds and three-quarters in 1:25.1, before Arque Hanover opened up on the field with an open length victory over Framed Art and Singing Saint.
Tony Morgan had a driving triple.
