It was a buyers market today (Thursday October 6) on Day Four of the of the five-day 2011 Lexington Yearling Sale being held at harness racing's Fasig-Tipton Sales Pavilion in Lexington, Kentucky from Monday October 3-7.

There were a lot of bargains to be had with none of the 177 lots on offer reaching the $100,000 mark.

The highest sale of the day went to a Kadabra-Frisky Fergi (Garland Lobell) filly named Frisky Magic (Lot 579). Per Henriksen of Norwood (Ontario) paid $80,000 to Northwood Bloodstock Agency for the bay.

New Zealanders Ian Dobson and Noel Kennard paid $65,000 for a Christian Cullen - Costal Skyhawk (Albatross) colt named Ridethrucountry (Lot 516). The seller was Kentuckiana Farms.

The Kiwi duo also forked out another $28,000 for a Christian Cullen-Sweetly Blessed (Life Sign) colt named Blessed Event (481). Kentuckiana Farms again sold the bay.

For the record top American reinsman Tim Tetrick also bought a yearling (Lot 476) for $10,000 Kentuckiana Farms. The colt is a son of Western Terror-Stucktoyoulikeglue (Jate Lobell) named Youandmetogether.
