DOVER, Del. —,.PT Stable's Laughing Matters proved the best for the second straight week recording a 1:53 victory in the $20,000-$25,000 3,4&5-Year-Old Claiming Handicap Allowance over a "good" track on Thursday, Dec. 17. It was the last day of harness racing until Monday, Dec. 28 as Delaware horsemen have a hiatus from racing during the annual Christmas Holiday Break week at Dover Downs.
With meet leading driver Corey Callahan handling the reins, the 5-ydear-old altered son of American Ideal-Liamatters rolled away from the outside to get the early lead and the Doug Lewsi trainee was never was headed scoring his sixth win of the year. He has now won $48,735 in 2015 and $125,509 lifetime. Militia Man (Tyler 'Davis) ermerged from the pack behind to close for second-place honors. Jackson Brady (Ross Wolfenden) was third.
Russell Foster enjoyed his biggest day at the track piloting three winners. Jonathan Roberts drove the longest shot on the card, trainer Bobby Glassmeyer's Ring Leda home at 24-1 odds.
George Dennis continued a red-hot week driving 13 winners during the week, by sweeping both ends of the daily double. Corey Callahan notched two more wins to bring his meet total to 64 for 27 days of racing.
Racing now takes off for the Christmas Holiday break from Dec. 18 through Dec. 27. Live racing resumes on Monday, Dec. 28 with an outstanding 15-race card featuring a $30,000 Preferred and a $27,500 Delaware Special as headliners.
