Lazarus was installed as a $2.50 favourite to win the Eynesbury Victoria Cup and Lennytheshark a $3.30 favourite to claim the Del-Re National Hunter Cup, when TAB.com.au released its harness racing Summer Of Glory markets today.
Leading New Zealand trainer Mark Purdon's superstar four-year-old, Lazarus, separated himself from the pack in the New Zealand Trotting Cup, prompting TAB bookies to favour the Bettors Delight young gun for the $400,000 Group 1 feature, ahead of David Aiken's pair Hectorjayjay ($3.40) and reigning champ Lennytheshark ($4.50).
Purdon's other prominent entrant and recent Perth Inter Dominion winner Smolda is considered a $15 shot for the Victoria Cup, but is behind only Lennytheshark at $3.80 over the longer Hunter Cup distance, which he won last year. Hectorjayjay is on the next line of betting at $4.
