The NSW Harness Racing Club after lengthy consultation with the UHRA and HRNSW have contracted Paramedical Services to replace the NSW Ambulance Service for all race meetings conducted at the track.
While the NSW Ambulance Service has provided exceptional support for many decades, the “add on” of following the field during races by Paramedical secured that company the role.
“There has been a clear indication from Government that deregulation of the ambulance service would, in time, eventuate,” said NSWHRC CEO John Dumesny.
“With this in mind, the club investigated the alternatives and have elected to go with Paramedical, a company with more than two decades experience.
By following the field at a safe distance paramedics can be immediately on hand to administer treatment to fallen drivers if necessary.
“We are assured that there is the same level of expertise, however the fact the ambulance follows the field is an issue which we have pursued for many years.”
