Trainer Joe Seekman has put to rest any and all speculation that his top two-year-old pacing colt, Let’s Drink On It, had hurt himself in the Metro Pace Final on August 31.
In the Metro Final, Let’s Drink On It was in third place coming down the stretch when he locked wheels and then went on a wild break and ended up finishing ninth.
“He is OK,” Seekman said. “I was a little concerned after the race but once we got him in the race paddock I could see that he did jump on himself and was a bit sore but that was it.”
Sired by Art Official from the Cam Luck mare, Letmedoweasy, Let’s Drink On It has four wins and two thirds in seven starts this year with earnings of more than $116,000 and a record of 1:51.1. The Metro final was the first time Let's Drink On It had failed to hit the board.
“We gave him a bit of rest,” Seekman said, “And last Friday I trained him in a jog cart in 2:09 and he was perfect again.
“We’ll shock ‘em in his next start this Sunday at Harrah’s in the $260,000 PA Sire Stakes finals.” Seekman added. “
