Lexington, KY — The Lexington Selected Yearling Sale continues to show increases in average prices over last year’s excellent harness racing auction, through the completion of its second session on Tuesday (Oct. 6).
A total of 252 youngsters have sold for an average price of $76,845, an improvement of 2.6 percent. By itself, the second session finished in a virtual dead heat with last year’s, averaging $56,046, compared to $56,261 a year ago.
Jimmy Takter was outbid on the top yearlings sold in Monday’s first session, but he would not be denied Tuesday, signing for the sale topper at $230,000. That’s All Moni is a filly by Cantab Hall out of Mom’s Millionaire, making her a three-quarter sister to the $1.4 million winning divisional and world champion filly Snow White. That’s All Moni was consigned by Preferred Equine Marketing as agent for Moni Market Breeders.
A close second among the leaders on Tuesday was the trotting colt Seven Stars, selling for $225,000. From the eagerly anticipated first crop of Chapter Seven, the only first crop sire in the entire sale, the colt is from Starlet Fever, a daughter of world champion My Starlet. Myron Bell signed the slip for this colt from the consignment of Spring Haven Farm, acting as agent for Lindwood Farm.
The Lexington Selected Yearling Sale continues each evening at 7 p.m. through Friday at the Fasig-Tipton Sale Arena.
