October 25, 2016 – Western Fair Raceway hosted the harness racing Ontario Monte Finale October 21 with the C$10,000 purse pari-mutuel event victory earned by Lexis DJ (9g Amigo Hall-Lexus Lulu-Angus Hall) with Stephanie Werder in the irons.
Werder flew in from SWE to pilot the winner that is trained and owned by Shane Arsenault.
Lexis DJ rallied past the three-quarter mile mark to explode to an eight length score timed in 2:04.4h.
Massive Muscles was second and Southwind Alice ended third, this pair season long positive competitors in the Ontario under saddle trots.
Wagering on this race was an impressive C$19,654.
In the USA the RUS NY organization put forth a $2800 purse contest on October 16 at Saratoga as a non-wagering event.
The four-length 2:04.4h winner was The Franchise (6g Muscles Yankee-Creamy Mimi-Conway Hall) for Michelle Crawford, trainer Kyle Spagnola and the owners RBH Ventures and Stagnola Racing. Funny Photo and Admirable Hanover were next to the line.
Monte performers were also in qualifying action at Meadowlands on October 21 with a 1:58.2 victory recorded by Modest Prince (6g RC Royalty-In To Me-Self Possessed) with Helene Gregory up for trainer Linda Toscano.
