Democrat Party may have beaten her comprehensively in the Young Guns Delightful Lady Classic but the All Stars team are confident that Linda Lovegrace will strip a far better horse in the Group One Caduceus Club 2YO Fillies Classic at Alexandra Park on Friday night.

“She had a virus when she was third in the Young Guns and was probably 4-5 lengths down on her best,” said Nathan Purdon, who travelled north with her on Sunday.

Linda Lovegrace, who was a Sires Stakes heat winner at Addington when last sighted, is one of two All Stars fillies in the $120,000 feature. Both have drawn well with Linda Lovegrace in barrier two and her stablemate Du Vella inside her in barrier one.

“Linda Lovegrace is working super and should have the wood on the other filly, but Du Vella would have to be a good place chance from the draw.

Nathan Purdon, who is the strapper of Adore Me, is also very pleased with the glamour mare heading into Friday’s $100,000 Group One Taylor Mile.

“She has settled in very well at Brian Hughes’s, in fact the whole team has,” said Purdon jnr. “I’ve got no excuses for any of them at this stage.”

Nathan is the current caretaker of six horses being stabled at the property of Brian Hughes, while the rest Purdon and Rasmussen barn are being stabled in Pukekohe with former All Stars employee, Jeremy Young.

“She (Adore Me) has drawn out a bit with a few speedsters inside her but I don’t think it will matter. She is racing in career best form at the moment and there is no Terror To Love this week.”

Purdon is also bullish about the chances of Full Speed Ahead, Paramount Queen, and Alleluia on the undercard.

“King Denny is at Pukekohe and I haven’t actually heard how he is going but he should be better the Alexandra Park way round as he hangs in a bit going right handed,” advised Purdon jnr. “He would only have to go the way he did in the Derby to be very competitive again.”

Among his rivals in the $75,000 Sires Stakes Trotters Championship are One Over Da Moon, Thebestlove, Majestic Time, and smart North Island trotter, Tout Noir.
