Harness Racing New South Wales tewards today (Wednesday December 1) inquired into a report from the Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory that the pre race blood sample taken from Statures Highlight when that horse competed in Race 7 at Penrith on 25 November 2010 showed on the screening analysis, a Total Plasma Carbon Dioxide (TCO2) in excess of the allowable threshold.

Evidence was taken from Mr Lindsay Jones, the Trainer of Statures Highlight.

The B Sample Blood was unable to be confirmed for the presence of TCO2 above the allowable threshold. As such, the swab was not declared positive.

Mr Jones pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 239A in that as the Trainer of Statures Highlight on the above mentioned date, he had adopted a feeding regime which raised the TCO2 level in Statures Highlight to such a level as that it may have led to a breach of the Rules.

Mr Jones was fined the sum of $1,500.
