Northern hemisphere harness racing star Lisagain will certainly be a force to reckon with this Saturday night November 12) in the Coca-Cola Amatil Sprint at Tabcorp Park Menangle.
In his first trial on Australian soil Lisagain impressed caretaker Peter Muir and certainly the track staff when comfortably covering the mile and a half hit-out in 3:05.
"Wow," Muir said just after the workout.
"Gosh he gets over the ground well and did it so easily."
"He's jogged the last half in 55.4 (seconds) and wasn't fully extended with a closing quarter of 27.3."
Renowned trackman James Chang rated the track slow after substantial overnight rain.
"We top-dressed the track last Saturday and it is probably three seconds off for the mile.
"As well those horses worked well past the middle of the track so when it comes to times, the 3:05 was more likely down below even halves."
Lisagain boasts a record of 1:49.2 with a strike rate of 61 starts for 17 wins, 9 seconds and 12 third placings.
