Logan County Fair in Bellefontaine, Ohio!

What a hot day. The track was fast, and the temperature was 86+ degrees last night (July 7) with 12 races and 76 harness racing horses going to the gate at the Logan County Fair in Bellefontaine, Ohio!

The first race was 3-year-old filly pacers with six of them going to the post. Rose Run Ultimate cut the mile out from start to finish and had a very fast blistering last quarter time in 27 ⅗ for trainer driver Ken Holiday and owners Black Magic Racing.

There was a large crowd braving the sun as it beat down on them for most of the card. The OHHA came to the rescue with a great give away, fold up fans! They were a hit, and everyone wanted one. Throughout the night fans played text trivia. You can tell the fans were experienced with this game as many had Thom Pye’s number saved and fans was texting Thom my answers versus myself even though I had my number posted and the announcer gave it out all night long.

Our very own OHHA Past President John Konesky III won tonight in 2:07 4⁄5 with a 2-year-old trotting filly named Cell Service. Congratulations, John!

The fan race was very fun tonight too, with a field of 7 in the 7th race, a wide open 2-year-old filly pace race. The lady that won has been all over the country and overseas to tracks but had never been to the winner circle until tonight.  What an exciting evening!
