Marseille Pont de Vivaux on Wednesday hosted Leg 9 of the prestigious Gr. II Grand National du Trot (2650 meters, 90,000 euro purse) and the winner was 24-1 longshot Quel Instant (9g Instant Gede-Inimaginable-Carpe Diem) in rein to Francois Lagaduec.
He rallied throughout the stretch covering the 2650 meters to score in 1.14.3kr over Slow de Beauvoisin (7g Jain de Beval-Gina du Beauvoisin-Podosis) with Stephane Cingland aboard.
The winner now sports 13 career wins good for 270,000 euros earned. Quechua de Feline was third for Roland Jaffrelot.
None of the top three were among the leading ten point winners in the series before the race. The GNT was Wednesday's Quinte+ race of the day and its jackpot was 5.45 million euro. A two euro ticket with the correct exact order paid 305,356 euro without the jackpot.
