Onsite Photographic - Kennans Josh (Tim Tetrick) won Maywood Park's ISOBA Stake for 3-Year-Old state bred colts on Friday night (May 6) with a 1.53.4 clocking.

Thirteen Illinois bred 3-Year-Old pacing colts and geldings passed the entry box for next Thursday (June 23) evening’s $100,000 (estimated) Maywood Pace Final.

A pair of eliminations races have been carded on Thursday’s (June 16) programme.

The first four finishers in the $10,000 elimination divisions (races five and nine) will advance to next week’s added money championship.

The evenly-matched seven horse fifth race brings out multiple Maywood Park stake winner Ithinki’msomebody (5-2, Tony Morgan), last year’s Cardinal champion Kennan’s Josh (3-1, Tim Tetrick), freshman Springfield State Fair victor Perdition (7-2, Ryan Anderson), as well as Chevie Nitrous (5-1), The Long Goodbye (6-1) and the Michael Polansky tandem of Murcielago and I Can Only Imagine (4-1) for the Tom Harmer Stable.

Perdition was an eight-time winner in his first season for Tanah Merah Farms when he racked up $106,781.

In addition to his Springfield championship, the Richest Hanover gelding also captured Hawthorne’s $47,500 Fox Valley Dynamic Final.

He was second best in the Governor’s Cup Final at DuQuoin and was beaten a neck in his only Maywood Park start by Kennan’s Josh (1.56.4) in the Chicago Jazz stake a year ago.

The ninth race second elimination heat has the early favouritism divided between Tanah Merah Farm’s Mandala Quest (2-1, Brent Holland), with the favourable pole position, the Anderson Racing Stable’s Canine Divine (5-2, Ryan Anderson) and Michael Polansky’s Y Z Onetwentyfive (3-1, Tony Morgan).

Short Again (8-1, Dave Magee), Kashitin (8-1, Ryan Anderson) and Mystical Tenor (9-2, Tim Tetrick) round out the second elimination division.

Both Mandala Quest and Mystical Tenor are trained by Erv Miller but will race uncoupled because of different ownership.
