Both of Thursday night’s pools for Maywood Parks Pick Four and Pick Five wagers got a boost when no one correctly selected those wagers last Friday night.

The Pick Four (races four through seven) will have a $2,362 carryover, while the Pick Five (races eight through twelve) starts off only $25 short of a $3,000 carryover.

Two $8,000-Plus Superfectas

We had two different Superfecta payoffs of over $8,000 on last Friday night’s Maywood Park program.

One lucky eighth race player was $8,185 richer after cashing in a winning 6-9-8-2 Super combination, keyed by the $36.60 winner Every Day Hero. In the last (13th) race No. 6 Im A Hot Sport ($32.60) keyed the winning 6-2-9-8 Superfecta that popped at $8,589.

Super Night Elims Next

This is the all important weekend for many owners of Illinois bred horses. Elimination races for starting berths in eight Super Night stake championships will be raced on Saturday and Sunday at our sister track Balmoral Park.

n Saturday it’s the time to step up for two and three-year-old pacers.

Eliminations to decide the finalists for both Orange and Blue freshman added money events will be carded, as well as elims for the Pete Langley Memorial for second season colts and geldings and the Grandma Ann for sophomore ICF fillies.

There is a $2,000 starting fee for all of the Saturday stake eliminations.

The circuit’s $21,500 Free For All is also slated on the 14-race Saturday program.

On Sunday evening there are four more stake eliminations.

Three-year-old trotters will vie in the Su Mac Lad (males) and the Lady Ann Reed (females). Both trots have a $1,500 starting fee.

The cream of the crop of older state breds pacers will duke it out in the Dan Patch (colts and geldings) and the Ann Vonian (fillies and mares).

Eligible horses for the Dan Patch and Ann Vonian carry a $1,250 starting fee.

Also on tap this Sunday, if needed, are eliminations races for the $120,000 (estimated) American National freshmen stake for trotting males to be raced the following Sunday evening (September 16).

Also slated Sunday is a $15,500 Open Pace for fillies and mares,
