Driver Andy Miller reached elite status in the standardbred world on Tuesday night (June 27) at Balmoral Park as he became the newest member of harness racing’s 5,000 win club by guiding Della Ware to victory in Tuesday’s 10th race.

The 37-Year-Old resident of Beecher, Illinois has been splitting time between New Jersey and Illinois for most of the 2006 season but the hectic travel schedule has not slowed him down one bit as he once again ranks among the sports leaders in both races won and purse earnings.

Miller becomes only the seventh Chicago based driver to hit this coveted plateau, joining such Prairie State greats as Hall of Famer Dave Magee, Tony Morgan, Dale Hiteman, Walter Paisley, Daryl Busse and Ron Marsh.

Miller driven horses have also racked up more than $41 million in purse earnings since he started his driving career started at the age of 16. He is the 53rd driver in history to reach 5,000 victories.
