MSOA, Meadows to host 7th Annual Pink Out

The Meadows Standardbred Owners Association and The Meadows Racetrack & Casino will host their 7thh Annual Pink Out event benefitting breast cancer research as part of a special card at this Saturday's harness arcing meeting (October 31), with a post time of 11:25AM.
 

Featured on the card will by the Mary McCune Trot, featuring a field of nine female drivers.

The race is named in honor of McCune, a Pennsylvania native who was a driving force behind the promotion of amateur racing across the country in the first half of the 20th century.

She is a member of the Keystone USHWA (United States Harness Writers Association) Hall of Fame.

Last year's race winner, Terry Millhoan, will be back to defend her title, driving Investor for trainer Julie Allison in the McCune Trot, which will be carded as the 8th race on the day.
 
The 6th race on the card will be designated along with the 8th race as Breast Cancer Research events, and both the MSOA and the track will donate their share of the commissions from money wagered on the race to breast cancer research at the Washington Health System in Washington, PA.
 

Also featured on Saturday at The Meadows will be a seminar for prospective new horse owners, presented by the MSOA and the United States Trotting Association.

The event will begin at 2PM in Delvin's Banquet Room on the Racebook level.

The seminar is free, and attendees will hear presentations from trainers Robert Barnard, Brad Buxton, Spencer Kahrig, Marcus Marashian and Tim Twaddle.

Potential new owners will then be offered the chance to accompany a trainer to the Harrisburg Sale on Friday, November 6.
