CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Screen Test unleashed a dominating harness racing performance as he captured the Saturday night preferred pace at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park and moved his driver closer to a career milestone.
Corey MacPherson was in the bike behind Screen Test as the Ron Gass trainee took command of the lead at the 28.3 first quarter and never looked back through splits of 58.2, 1:27.4 and a clock stopping trip of 1:54.4 in the $3,200 featured pace.
The win was number 18 of Screen Test's career for owners Kickin Horse Stable of York and William Andrew of Calgary, Alta. Lisburn (Driven by Kenny Arsenault) was second with Simple Kinda Man (Marc Campbell) completing the triactor.
MacPherson had three wins on the card as the Cornwall driver now sits at 997 lifetime victories with a trip to the 1,000 win club in his sights. His other wins were with Soccer Hanover in 1:55.4 for Leith Waite of Kensington and with three-year-old pacing colt Tobins Rebel in a career best 1:55.3 trip for conditioner Gord Ford of Charlottetown.
David Dowling had the hot hands on the program with four wins on the card. The Warren Grove driver had a pair of victories from the Earl Watts stable of Hampshire with Shadow Of A Daut in 1:57.1 and in a maiden breaking score with Notyourtypicalman in 2:00.2.
Dowling was also in the bike as Tyne Valley trainer Kyle Williams scored his first lifetime training win on the card with Zack The Men in 1:58.1. Dowling's other victory was with Silverhill Buddy in 1:58.2 for David Myers of Charlottetown.
