Trainer Stefan Hultman and manager Travkompaniet confirmed that Maharajah will not defend his 2014 Prix d’Amerique title.

The veteran nine year-old son of Viking Kronos-Chili Khan-Giant Chill faced a brief interruption in training recently and will not have time and sufficient racing tests to be a peak form for the world’s top trotting event in late January.

No decision has been made on the future racing career of Maharajah. Maharajah won almost 6.9SEK million in his four starts in the Prix d’Amerique from 2011-2014.

His long-time reinsman Orjan Kihlstrom has signed on the team of the US import Solvato in Saturday’s Prix du Bourbonnais at Vincennes. Trainer Veijo Heiskanen appears to have Solvato in good form as evidenced by a rallying win a week ago.
