Dover, DE - Moments Of Joy and driver Victor Kirby were able to lead nearly from start to finish in capturing the $25,000 Mares Open Handicap Pace at Dover Downs on Wednesday.

Trained and owned by Bryan Truitt of Delaware, Moments Of Joy left from from rail for driver Victor KIrby and ended up parked out first-over against Delishka N (Allan Davis) to an opening quarter mile in :27. Once cleared to the lead, Moments Of Joy then cut the mile with fractions of :55.4 and 1:23.4 before holding off a late charge by race favorite Wisdom Tree (Tim Tetrick) to win by a neck in 1:51.4.  Rockin the Boys A. for driver Tony Morgan and trainer Andrew Harris finished third.

The five-year-old mare by Western Terror went off at odds of 5-1 and paid $12.80 to win.
