I would just be happy for just one reporter in Australia or NZ to explain to the harness racing fraternity that Smoken Up in the 2011 Inters, had the drug DMSO in his system in both heat wins and in the final.
Yes both heat wins!!
DMSO was found at the stables of caretaker Richard Brosnan where Smoken Up was stabled.
It's all in the judgement by HRNZ online, for all to read in black and white.
For some strange reason this glaring fact, simply got buried under all the Hoo hah by the media, in particular television reporters Greg Hayes, Adam Hamilton, and John Tapp are in the gig who all struggled with the word disqualified, when referring to
Makes you wonder if a small time trainer from Australia, would have got this type of media gloss over, had his horse produced a positive swab, in winning harness racing most prestigious race.
Quinny was robbed of his glory in the 2011 final in NZ.
He then went onto win back to back Interdominion finals in 2012, and be an placed in the Hall of Fame.
The record books record the winners, losers just cry over beers in the pub.
That's as simple as it gets.
