Market Share is not going to the Elitlopp

It was announced tonight (Saturday) by majority owner Richard Gutnick of Blue Bell, PA, that Market Share, after his dramatic victory in a $40,000 division of the Cutler Memorial Trot, that his world champion trotter would not be traveling to Sweden to compete at the end of the month in the Elitlopp, one of the most prestigious trotting events in harness racing.

Citing next weeks $175,000 final of the Cutler Series, the long trip overseas and back plus the very tough season ahead and public urging not to go right now by trainer Linda Toscano, the owners discussed the sitation after the race tonight and came away with their decision for Market Share to "stay at home" as Toscano felt is best for the horse.

USA standouts, Maven and Uncle Peter have already accepted invitations to race in the Elitlopp. Uncle Peter is already in Denmark and is one of the favorites in Sunday's Copenhagen Cup.
