The second round of three year old Maryland Sire Stakes prelims wrapped up with two splits each for harness racing pacing fillies and trotting colts and geldings.
The trotting colts and geldings opened the card with Eddie Davis Jr. sending Remarkable De Vie (Charlie De Vie) to the front stopping the clock two lengths ahead of Fire’n Woodshed (Lockkeeper) in the 1:58.2 mile. Syl King Jr. trains for owner Steven Mullen, the breeder is Lisa Caposio.
She All Miss Thang (Cam’s Rocket) was victorious for driver-owner Russell Foster in the first division for sophomore pacing fillies crossing the wire four lengths ahead of That’s Fun (Cool Flying Fun) in 1:57.2. Megan Foster trains the filly for her husband. Richard Hans is the breeder.
In the third race, the second split for the trotting colts and geldings, Mind Yown Business (Lockkeeper) cut the mile holding off the pocket sitting I Deliver (Four Starz Robro) by a head in the photo finish giving the Foster connections their second stake victory of the night. Russell owns and drove the gelding, Megan is the trainer and Richard Hans is the breeder. Time for the mile was 1:57.3.
Reinsman Eddie Davis Jr. guided Rocket Rhonda (Cam’s Rocket) to a perfect pocket trip in the second division for pacing fillies, charging down the stretch to win by ¾ length over Kelseys On Cruze (Rusty’s All In) tripping the timer in 1:59.4. Brian Callahan owns and trains the filly and Roger Hans was the breeder.
The popular driver meet and greets will return on Sunday July 7 from 6:30 to 7:00 pm near the winners circle at Ocean Downs. Featured will be Russell Foster, Declan Donoway and Rick Still.
