The All Stars barn regularly sweep all before them at harness racing meetings in New Zealand but it is not that easy for the young reinsman tied to the stable.
They get the odd drive on stable runners in junior drivers events or fill in when the leading stable reinsmen are away at Auckland for the classic races.
So it was tonight at Addington Raceway when Conversion broke his maiden duck for the All Star junior reinsman Matt Anderson.
Matt slotted him into a lovely one by possie from barrier four and Matt didn't have to move until they got to the home corner.
Eased out three wide on the corner, Conversion just went on by and won with a lot in reserve.
He paced the 1950 metres in a quick 2:21.4, a mile rate of 1:56.6 with closing sectionals of 57.3 and 28.7.
The three year son of Christian Cullen and the former high class racemare Coburg 1: 56.7 ($205, 176) looks to have a bright future.
The win tonight by Matt continues the great run that he has been having this season with a UDR of 2731 that any driver would be very happy with.
Matt has a plan this season.
" I am very keen to make the Australasian Junior Drivers Championship and I am right up there at the moment."
" Whenever it fits in with Mark and Natalie I have been taking drives up north and down south with the aim of getting the top spot to qualify."
" It is very competitive amongst the junior drivers but if I can keep getting the outside drives I give myself a chance of winning the top spot," Matt said.
So any trainers out there from Northland to Bluff, if you need a top junior driver for an upcoming race Matt is more than likely available.
