Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) stewards have opened and adjourned an inquiry into the pre-race treatment regime adopted by New South Wales licensed trainer Barry Matterson whilst campaigning New York Fashion in the Tabcorp Australasian Breeders Crown series in Victoria.

HRV stewards seized items from the possession of Mr Matterson in relation to the inquiry last Sunday afternoon at Tabcorp Park Melton.

In addition, New York Fashion (by Falcon Seelster) was retained on-course for three hours following its sixth placing in the three-year-old fillies final to allow for the collection of post-race blood samples.

The inquiry will be reconvened on a date to confirmed.
