While their stable stars ran the quinella in the Treuer Memorial tonight, the bread and butter McCarthy & Dixon performers continued to dominate harness racing proceedings at home, supplying more than half the programs winners at Albion Park Raceway tonight.
John McCarthy took training honours with a treble of winners including You Two Bono, George Dubya and Jollygood Gent. John drove the first two winners while youngest son Todd saluted aboard the later.
Bill Dixon prepared Our Jaccka Lad and Aqua Blue Girl with son Grant steering both to victory.
Other winners on the night included Melton Ned Calle who scored after a 10 out of 10 drive from Peter McMullen for his father John.
Glengarry Sunrise made the most of a good draw for Birthday Girl Chantal Turpin and trainer Wayne Graham when he scooted to a clear 7.60 metre victory.
Rockys Image had a cosy run behind the leader to sprint lane to victory for Mathew Neilson, while the blow out horse of the night was Nickdal who scored for Greg Elkins at the juicy odds of $53.60 on UNiTAB and returned the luscious dividend of $127.00 on the NSW TAB. The win was in the final leg of the UNiTAB Quadrella, Treble and Extra Double which left punters who had the favoured runners scratching their heads and those that boxed the field elated.
Punters are advised that from tonight race replays from Albion Park are now more compact, quicker to load and include the race from go to whoa.
