Well bred Canterbury pacer Pick My Pocket won yesterday (Saturday) for Weedons harness racing trainer Nigel McGrath.
Owned by Allwood Stud Farm the Bettor's Delight three year old filly was bred by Charlie Robert and is out of In The Pocket mare La Filou which is a half sister to a host of winners including Have Faith In Me (14 wins), Imagine Me (9) and Megabucks (5). Another half-sister Splendid Dream is the dam of Hands Christian (13), Christen Me (32) and Dream About Me (18).
Driver Blair Orange says Pick My Pocket probably won't reach the height of some of her immediate family but she won well enough yesterday.
"She just needs to sharpen up a bit. I said to Nigel if we had that rule like to do in Australia (no whip rule about to be introduced) we couldn't race her because she'd just drop out. Hopefully she'll switch on but she's just very very lazy," said Orange.

Her win in 2-56.3 will add value to her potential career as a broodmare.
Other highlights of the Wairio meeting included Rocking Robyn running 2-54.1, equalling the track and Southland record held by stablemate Robyn's Bad Boy. In addition Rocking Robin provided junior reinsman Jamie Campbell with another winning drive.
