EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ — Meadowlands Racing & Entertainment will host its "2nd Sportscasters Charity Derby" — two harness racing races to benefit each participating Sportscaster's selected charitable organizations — on Saturday, May 11, 2019.
The "2nd Sportscasters Charity Derby" will consist of ten famous Sportscasters who will each compete in a one-mile harness race driving a racehorse in a jog cart. There will be two charity races — with five Sportscasters participating in each race. Meadowlands Racing & Entertainment will donate $5000 to each of the two winning Sportscasters' selected charities — and will also make a $1000 donation to each charity selected by each Sportscaster who participates.
Jeff Gural, Chairman and CEO of Meadowlands Racing & Entertainment, said, "We are very excited to be hosting the '2nd Sportscaster Charity Derby.' We are equally excited that so many of the top Sportscasters who live in the NY-NJ Metro area will be participating in this fun and exciting event. It will raise funds for many important charitable organizations and harness racing fans will shave a great time handicapping and analyzing the Sportscasters' respective talents to drive a racehorse."
