Mick Lombardo's Lombo Standardbreds has a draft of a dozen youngsters at the auction to be conducted by Gloucester Standardbreds. Mick Lombardo, Australia's most successful harness racing breeder and owner, returns to the Western Australian yearling sale arena for the first time in three years at the Belmont sale on Sunday, February 14.

The consignment includes seven colts and two fillies by the deceased champion WA pacer Saab. They are headed up by a half-brother to the talented Perfect Gold Lombo 1:56 ($145,245) and colts from the smart racemares Lady Julie Lombo 1:59.3 ($89,499) and Mumsthaword Lombo.

Lombardo is also offering two colts by Modern Art - including the first foal of classic winner Sweet Maddy Lombo 1:59.5 ($105,800) - and a filly by Million To One.

The entire Lombardo draft is eligible for the rich Australian Pacing Gold sales-race series for two and three-year-olds.

Neven Botica, who owns reigning Inter Dominion trotting champion Sundons Gift, is the only other vendor with APG eligible yearlings.

Botica's Botsky Pty Ltd has three lots namely, a Grinfromeartoear colt closely related to 3YO of the Year Franco Enforce, a Western Terror colt from the WA Empress Stakes winner Roustabout and a Northern Luck filly from a half-sister to Clear Atomic Day 1:54.2 ($260,194).
