The John and Joshua Dickie trained Mille Sampson was impressive again when making it two wins from as many starts at Cambridge tonight.
The daughter of Bettor’s Delight, who was named after Kiwi world marathon champion Mildred Samson, like her namesake, can really run, and that was once again evident tonight.
Backed into a $2 favourite, Mille Sampson was sent forward early by Josh Dickie, and after an early tussle with Ohoka Cooper, was able to back it off in the van. She then powered home in slick sectionals of 57.2 and 27.2 to leave Ohoka Cooper and Sweet Art in her wake.
Her latest win comes after a 2:42.6 debut, where she won effortlessly by 3 & ¾ of length despite dragging a flat tyre for the last half.
The Dickies have Oaks aspirations for the filly who they rate as the most promising horse in their stable.
Millie Sampson is impeccably bred being out of Christian Cullen mare Cullen's Creation, who is a cousin of the great Courage Under Fire.
Meanwhile, Beyond The Silence made it four wins on end when downing Mista Mara in a slick time of 2-42.2, whilst Give the Wink booked himself a ticket to the $50,000 Kaikoura Sales Series Pace when winning his fifth race at just his seventh start.
