Miracle Mile winner Baby Bling added the Harness Breeders (Vic) Richmond Lass to her list of feature race wins last night at Tabcorp Park Melton.

Trained by Amanda Grieve, Baby Bling benefited from a flawless Luke McCarthy drive, drifting back to last early from gate seven before improving to park outside leader Blazeaway Macray with 1200m to go in the 1720m race.

About 800m from home, Chris Shinn made his move aboard Steam Washed out three-wide, giving La Machane (Greg Sugars) a cart into the race from well back.

All the while Tandias Bromac (Chris Alford) was patiently smoking his pipe behind the leader.

Turning for home Blazeaway Macray was being asked to go as Baby Bling levelled up, while Steam Washed was still making ground despite a three-wide-no-cover final lap.

But Baby Bling had all the answers, drawing clear 100m from home to hold off runner-up Steam Washed and third placegetter Tandias Bromac on the inside, with La Machane finishing fourth.

The winner clocked a 1:55.3 mile rate, coming home in a 55.5 last half.

The six-year-old mare by Western Terror has now won 21 races from 52 starts.
