DAYTON, OH – Miss You scored an impressive 1:50.3 triumph in her harness racing debut at Hollywood Dayton Raceway, coasting to an open lengths victory in a $14,000 Mares Open.
Driver Jeremy Smith took no prisoners in the feature event blasting from mid pack behind the gate to the early lead in the first furlong. The outcome was never in serious doubt as the New Zealand-bred 6 year old daughter of Betterthancheddar showed her heels to the field throughout the quick mile.
Sweet Heaven (Brett Miller) proved second best, while Talkaboutaqueen (Rod Allums Jr.) rallied to secure the show money.
Carl Howard and Bottom Line Racing LLC own the winner who is trained by Virgil Morgan Jr. It was the 19th career win for Miss You, who increased her lifetime bounty to $222,560.
