Mister Swinger, the first son of former harness racing champion pacer Village Jasper 1:51, Australia's leading sire for the last two years, will stand this season at Tony and Robert Ross's Rosswood Stud, near Dubbo in New South Wales.

His service fee will be $2200 including GST with some attractive breeding packages available.

Possessed of a brilliant finishing burst, Mister Swinger, who is the richest entire son of his sire, won a total of $445,107, an amount that would have been considerably higher had he remained sound throughout his career.

Twice a winner at two, he blossomed into one of the best his age and sex as a three-year-old, winning eight times including the Chokin 3YO Championship at Harold Park and heats of the Breeders Crown and Vicbred Super Series and qualifying for the finals of the NSW Derby, Breeders Crown and Vicbred.

Mister Swinger carried on the good work into his four-year-old campaign, winning five and being placed three times from nine starts highlighted by successes in the Hondo Grattan Sprint at Harold Park and the Winter Championship at Moonee Valley.

In the summer of 2008/09 Mister Swinger announced himself as a Grand Circuit horse of the future, capturing a trio of Group 1 events over a two-month period. He started his amazing streak in the $60,000 Cranbourne Cup and then collected the $100,000 South Australian Cup before charging home from midfield to defeat subsequent Inter Dominion winner Mr Feelgood in the $125,000 Ballarat Pacing Cup.

On the strength of the Cups treble and unlucky third in the Victoria Cup, Mister Swinger was ranked No.3 for one of the most hotly contested Inter Dominions in years, staged at the Gold Coast, but a tendon injury prevented him from producing his best.

Returning to the fray as a seven-year-old, Mister Swinger won in Free-for-all company at Tabcorp Park and, two starts later, produced his trademark barnstorming finish to annex the Group 2 $50,000 Shepparton Gold Cup – the 22nd win of his 69-start career.

A son of the Jate Lobell horse Village Jasper, Mister Swinger belongs to a noted female line, his dam Baby Boomer being by Windshield Wiper 1:53.4TT, champion sire and broodmare sire from Brad’s Angel, by Select Yankee from Amor Court, by Amorous, a dcorated grandson of Globe Derby.

Baby Boomer, the dam of Mister Swinger, has proved a prolific broodmare. She is also the dam of Swinging Scooter 1:53.4 ($456,457), Village Swinger 1:58.2 ($104,774), Jonell Sullivan 1:59.3 ($81,324), Sir Swinger 1:56 ($69,615, 10 wins to date) and Delightfullybettor 1:56.9 and the grand-dam of the promising Swing Is The Thing 1:55.6 (8 wins to date).

Champion horseman Geoff Webster, who prepared Mister Swinger in all his Group wins, said: “He’s a good natured, good going horse; the kind that you dream about having in your stable. He’s very well bred and you can’t fault his conformation. I’ll be sending a mare or two to him.”
