Cheyenne Miriam takes on Monochromatic at Dover Downs today
DOVER, Del. ---- Dover Downs is racing today, Monday, Feb. 3. While heavy snow has again hit much of the Northeast, the Dover area received only a light drizzle. The Monday feature race features Monochromatic putting a two-race win streak on the line meeting stakes seasoned Cheyenne Miriam in the $20,000 Mares/Handicap pace. Post time is 4:30 p.m.

North State Street Stable's Monochromatic has won the top female pace this meet three times including the last two weeks

Ken Wood, Bill and Steve Iaquita's Jeremes Sweetheart and driver Ron Pierce have been in the finish photo in each of her last six starts including four-time second. A new contender this Monday is Cheyenne Miriam with Tony Morgan driving. The four-year-old won a Matron Stakes elim in November and has since raced against top class females at Yonkers and the Meadowlands.

Rich Lombardo, Dave Kryway and Seafood Delight Stable's Cooking The Books and Allan Davis with two seconds in his previous three starts moves to post 2 this time. Bob Winkleman's greatly improved Paradise Lost with Ross Wolfenden has been sharp all meet. The other leading contenders are Jason and Susan Skinner's BJ's Sweetheart handled by George Dennis, Valerya, bred, owned, trained and driven by Art Stafford Jr. and Jim Carr's Narancia Hanover piloted by Trace Tetrick.

In the secondary feature, $15,000 4&5-Year-Old Mares Winners-Over pace, Don Reed and trainer George Wagner's Grandview Hanover (George Dennis), a four-time winner this meet takes on Rich Ashley and Mike Cain's steady Beechwood Diana; Katherine Bardis and George Teague's sharp Lloyd's Lady with Montrell Teague; Crawford Partners' Air Miles Hanover teamed with Vic Kirby; Brit Evans' Kiss My Yankee (Tony Morgan). Bay Pond Racing's Winbak Speedi draws the rail with Allan Davis while Ed Gold and trainer Ben Stafford's Matinee Dragon, a winner of two of his last three, must overcome post 8 and will be driven by Ben Stafford Jr.
