Quarnac L’iton (9g Ideal de L’iton-Classic Meslois-Muskateer) captured Monday's Gr. III Prix Alfred Lefevre (95,000 euro purse, 2850 meters, monte European, 11 starters) with Simon Laloum aboard for trainer Henri Levesque.
The winner scored for the 12th time in his career for earnings of 396,200 euro. Torre Crepin was second with Satin d’Avril third in a race in which the top five finishers were off at odds of 112, 18, 25, 14 and 67/1. The upset winner was timed in 1.13.7kr.
Three of nine Paris-Vincennes races today were well contested monte events.
The Prix de Pontivy(48,000 euro, 2175 meters, 12 starters, monte) produced a sharp 1.12.3kr win for Soleil d’Argent (7g Ni Ho Ped d’Ombree-Icellia d’Argent), off at 2.4/1 odds with Caroline Cheradame up, his 11th career win for 190,030 euro in the bank.
Second went to Reve d’Aure (8g Love You-Jessica s’Aure-Podosis), P-Y Verva aboard, with third to Roi Arthur (8g Biesolo-Kawabata-Dream With Me) for trainer Alain Roussel.
The Prix de Bagneres (46,000 euro purse, 2700 meters, 10 starters, monte) produced a nice win for Aquarelle de Fael (3f Look de Star-Nadia Pierji-Vikings Way) in 1.16.kr. The Look de Star filly was off at 1.6/1 and produced her fifth career win with Franck Nivard aboard for trainer Thierry Duvaldestin.
