The Dr Ian Moore (Guelph, Ontario) trained and Tyler Moore driven 2-1 favourite Eighteen led from go to woe to win the coveted Gold Cup & Saucer Final in track record time at Charlottetown yesterday (Saturday August 18). The $60,000 Final wrapped up 'Old Home Week's' harness racing festivities in style.

The 4-yearold son of Cams Card Shark stopped the clock in 1:51 - with prior sectionals of 26.4, 54.2, and 1:22.1.

The time equalled the track record set by Part Shark in the 2010 edition of the race.

It was his eighth win in 49 starts and he has now won $235,350.

At 20 Moore became the youngest driver to create a record at Charlottetown.

"I can barely keep my feet on the ground," commented the winning reinsman as he made his way to the winner's circle. I had him on the gate a lot better tonight and he really got out of there great. Everything went his way. I knew it was a speed duel coming to the half with everyone going at him and he just fought them off the whole way. He couldn't wait to get this race done just as bad as me," Moore junior said.
