Millionaire pacer Mr Feelgood has rocketed into contention for Friday's Inter Dominion Grand Final after drawing the coveted pole position at yesterday's harness racing barrier draw. Positioned beautifully to either lead or maybe take a trail on Smoken Up whose chances diminished slightly after drawing awkwardly in gate six, Mr Feelgood is great each way value as he will enjoy the run of the race.
Local star Im Themightyquinn (gate seven) will no doubt start a warm favourite, with the barrier having little consequence, as he was always going to go back at the start.
was dealt a severe blow after drawing outside the front row (gate nine) and reinsman Anthony Butt will have to use all his skill to plan the tactics – possibly the best option would be to follow the favourite throughout, however he is unlikely to be able to outsprint him in the straight.
Tim Butt’s Raglan with Sydney’s Darren Hancock to drive in all probability, has a great place chance as has W-A hope Crombie from their draws of three and four.
John Justice aboard Smoken Up will no doubt put the “foot to the floor” in an effort to lead, but it is highly likely than he will be able to crossand will be the one doing all of the work in the race.
Betting markets in W-A suggest that Im Themightyquinn will be around $2.25,at $4.60, Smoken Up at $4.00 and at $9.00.
Whatever way you look at the race, Im Themightyquinn because of his outstanding sprinting ability and how he handles the track to perfection, is definitely the one to beat and could start an odds-on favourite by starting time.
