Mr. Trifecta defeats handicappers second leg

In this weekend's second of three legs of HANA Harness' The Pen vs. The Chip Handicapping Challenge sponsored by The Hambletonian Society, Meadowlands, Tioga Downs, and Vernon Downs, Mr. Trifecta came out victorious on Meadowlands Pace night with a 1.646 Win ROI, defeating the other seven harness racing handicappers.

While Mr. Trifecta stood out on his own taking the gold, it was a tight race for second through fourth place as a total of $2.80 separated the trio with Mark McKelvie (1.177) grabbing silver, Scott Alberg (1.146) taking the bronze medal, with Pandy (1.069) landing the fourth slot.

When it came to Exactas, current overall leader Mark McKelvie finished well ahead of the rest of the pack with an Exacta ROI of 1.223. Leg winner Mr. Trifecta (0.662) was second with Pandy and Scott Alberg dead-heating for the show spot (0.440).

In his now familiar spot, Mark McKelvie continues to lead the handicappers in the contest-to-date standings with a Win ROI of 1.029 with Trackmaster’s Chatsworth Consortium (0.94) and Pandy (0.902) finishing second and third respectively.

he handicapping challenge concludes for the weekend with tonight’s race card at Rideau Carleton for the 31st Des Smith Classic Pace. Selections for the Rideau Carleton card are available on the contest website.

A quick look at the contest action next weekend shows four handicapping legs with stops at Tioga Downs (Friday, 7/20), our contest’s first double header on Saturday (7/21) with racing at Mohawk Racetrack and Northfield Park, concluding Sunday (7/22) with racing from Tioga Downs.
