Musclelaneous and Pegasus Blue Chip won separate harness racing divisions, both clocked in 1:57, to win the $13,000 4&5-Year-Old trot on Thursday, Feb. 23 at Dover Downs. In one section, Musclelaneous, driven by Corey Callahan, was engaged in head-to-head battle for the lead in mid-stretch when My Man (Matt Kakaley) broke stride enabling the Muscles Yankee-Spendthrift four-year-old an easy path to victory in 1:57.
The winner is owned by D.M. and J.G. Callahan and Bonuccelli Racing and trained by Nick Callahan. Why Not Lindy (Tony Morgan), an 18-1 shot, moved up to finish second. Another longshot, 83-1 Suwanee River (John Wagner) was the show horse. The win advanced Musclelaneous’ earnings to $99,457.
Matt Kakaley recorded one of his three wins, during the card, driving Pegasus Blue Chip home in 1:57 for trainer Ed Gannon Jr. and owners Dawn Gannon, Frank Canzone and Yannick Gingras. A four-year-old altered son of-Paloma Hanover, Pegasus Blue Chip made only his second start of the year. The win boosted his career bankroll to $60,501. Photorama (Tony Morgan) came on to finish second. Tropic Storm (John Wagner) was third.
