After coming along way in a short period of time, Smoken Up will commence his charge towards the 'big time' when the former Kiwi heads to Geelong on Tuesday night (July 17) for his next assignment.

Smoken Up is rated by his trainer-driver Lance Justice as his next star performer following the retirement of the former glamour horse Sokyola and the four-year-old has drawn the second row for his upcoming assignment over 2100 metres.

ince arriving from the 'land of the long white cloud' with two wins and six placings from his 10 engagements, Smoken Up has hit the Victorian scene with a string of exciting displays.

moken Up was given a month off by Justice after the son of Tinted Cloud and Carnlough Bay made it eight from eight for his new connections.

he gelding encounted his toughest test to date when Smoken Up faced the starter for the running of the 4 & 5YO Championship at Moonee Valley on June 1.

rom gate four Smoken Up led throughout in accounting for Captain Kalahari by 2.2 metres while Lenny Bromac was a further 2.9 metres away in grabbing third.

in number eight was recorded at Bendigo 13 days later when Smoken Up worked from a second line draw in finding the lead role.

rom that point onwards the gelding powered to the line in defeating Light Rock by 7.2 metres.

moken Up will again be called upon to overcome a back row draw if he is to remain unbeaten for Justice, but it would be a brave man to suggest that the pair won't be seen to advantage once again.

he Chariots Of Fire will be staged on the last Friday in August, with a host of outstanding 4-year-old talent set to fight out the eight invited positions.

hile Smoken Up looks to be well on his way to wrapping up one spot it must be noted that the 'four-time' Derby winner in Divisive should already be assured of one spot.

eter Rixon, who trains and drives Divisive, also has Loud N Clear heading down the same path.

aul Fitzpatrick has two top contenders in Dereks Pick and Shantahliatrailblaza while Special Albert can't be left out of the equation.

ogalong Joel, Atomic Ark and Vixen Hanover have the chance to further enhance their claims when the trio take to the track for the running of the 4 & 5YO Championship at Albion Park on Saturday night (July 14).

he David Murphy trained and driven Master Of Disguise is also on the list.

nd, the list goes on, with at least 16 or more outstanding athletes looking to face the starter for their shot at the $200,000 on offer, along with the honour which goes in winning the Chariots Of Fire.
