Neil Pilcher has never made any secret of his opinion of the progeny of Courage Under Fire over the years at the harness racing yearling sales throughout Australasia.
From the time Smolda started to burn up the tracks as a three year old, Neil has never faulted in his belief in the progeny of the son of In The Pocket.
Neil has had a great run with his sales purchasers over the years which has meant he has continued to go back to the well again and again.
Today at the Sydney leg of the Australian Pacing Gold Sales in Sydney at Ranwick, Neil was at it again when he chased and bought a Courage Under Fire colt for a healthy $32,500.
Catalogued as Lot 285, the colt is the first foal from a three win win Elsu mare in Our Super Party but the rest of the maternal family is proven and at the highest level.
The grand-dam is the 15 win racemare Party Party 1:53 ($251,236) who produced such smart types as Hoss Cartwright 1:51.3 ($352,878) and the dam of the brilliant juvenile Cowgirls N Indians 1:56 ($376,723) while the third dam Bee Gee's Dream is a winner of the New Zealand Broodmare Excellence Award in the recent past.
This family is highly sought after in New Zealand and it is doubtful that Neil could have secured such a nice type of colt from this family for $32,500 at a New Zealand sale.
The individual himself is a carbon copy of his sire and had class written all over him as he went through the ring today.
Courage Under Fire has been having a big run recently with his age group pacers in both Australia and New Zealand and that has started to come through in a resurgence in demand for his yearlings.
Neil Pilcher on the other hand has never stopped buying the Courage Under Fires at the yearling sales and as today showed he has no intention of stopping anytime soon.
