Nerfertie Del Rio holds off a wall of horses to win at Vincennes

Italian invader Nerfertite Del Rio won today's 62,000 euro purse Quinte + Prix de Salvanhac at Vincennes, her 16th career win that increased lifetime earnings to almost 260,000 euro. Alexandre Abrivard did the teaming as the winner prevailed in a blanket finish timed in 1.14.6kr over the 2700 meter course. Tiva de la Frette, Elles W. Phedo and Global Midnight were noses apart for second in the 17 horse field.

The co-featured Prix de Baumont-de-Lomagne for monte performers carried a 65,000 euro purse and went to the Coktail Jet mare Vraie Blonde in 1.14.1kr over 2175 meters. The Jean-Etienne Dubois owned and conditioned mare held off the Louis Baudron owned/trained Viva Jenilou to earn her sixth career victory.

Two year-olds contested the Prix des Eglantiers later in the card and the Philippe Allaire/Joseph Verbeeck team had another Ready Cash winner, this time with the colt Bouclier d'Or as he defeated offspring of Love You and Sam Bourbon, the latter named Black Gold and driven by his owner Jean-Pierre Dubois.
