As part of Addington’s five year strategic plan, the early part of 2014 has seen some progressive change take place on the foot print at the Raceway.
The traditional racing administration offices near the Twiggers Street area of the Addington property have been leased to the Canterbury Rugby Football Union (CRFU) on a medium term lease in January and now provide an additional income stream to the organisation tha was not previously available. This revenue has also enabled the New Zealand Metropolita Trotting Club (NZMTC) to undertake the development of new administration offices in previously under utilised area on the ground floor of the Metropolitan Stand, which is now home to both the Addington racing and events staff.
The change of office location, allowing the CRFU to lease commercially viable space, provides the Club with additional income that will contribute directly to the Club’s bottom line.
“This change is in line with the ongoing goal of the Club to have a diversified commercial platform, to provide sustainable returns to stakeholders and is a key initiative of the Club’s Strategic Plan. It will provide the Club with ongoing returns that will be available to maximise sustainable stakes for our stakeholders over the medium and longer term. This is but one of a number of ongoing initiatives to future proof New Zealand’s leading multipurpose racing and events venue,” Club Chairman Barry Dent added.
The new administration offices are accessible to the public for any information and enquiries and were officially opened on Monday 17 March.
