After a two week absence, the New Zealand bet of the week ring-around is back!
The last ring-around produced six winners, with Blair Orange, Craig Thornley, Jonny Cox, Simon Lawson, Steve Richardson and Todd Mitchell all selecting winners.
The best result was a $23.70 quinella that was tipped out by Simon Lawson and Josh Dickie.
Here are this week’s selections:
Anthony Butt: Has gone for Choise Achiever as his best of the week. He starts his New Zealand Cup preparation in the Maurice Holmes Vase on Friday night – Addington, race eight.
Blair Orange & Mark Jones: Have both opted for the very inform Electric Ollie. He goes around in the Young At Heart Final and, after two heat wins, looks a very strong chance – Addington, race nine.
Craig Thornley: Has a fair bit of time for U Dream, and thinks she can continue on her winning way, despite the rise in class – Addington, race ten.
David Butt: Has opted for last year’s Trotter of the Year, Stig, as his bet of the week. He resumes in race five at Addington on Friday night.
Jonny Cox: Has a handy book of drives this week, but rates Cracklin Rosie the best of them. She goes around in the eighth race at Winton on Sunday.
John Dunn: Has gone for Comenche, who like Electric Ollie, will compete in the Young At Heart Final. Verdict: Take the quinella with Electric Ollie.
Ken Barron: Rates Hannah Jaye as his best of the week. She was sensational when fresh-up last campaign, and looks the only horse who can issue a slight challenge to the very talented Locharburn. Verdict: Take the quinella.
Matthew Williamson: Thinks Sonia Ellen will take all sorts of stopping over a mile at Winton on Sunday. She goes around in the tenth race.
Nathan Williamson: Has opted for Bet’s Best as his best bet this week (try say that aloud). She just seems to keep on winning and looks to be in a very suitable race at Winton on Sunday – Race five.
Ricky May: Thinks most of his drives are place chances this week. But if there is a winner there he thinks it might be Locharanza Franco – Addington, race one.
Scott Phelan: Has two very good drives tonight in Cyamach ($1.45) and Freespin ($2.10), however he slightly favours the latter – Alexandra Park, race nine.
Simon Lawson: Who is one of the segments most successful tipsters, has opted for Sweet Jane just over Charge Forward. She goes around in the third race at Alexandra Park tonight.
Steve Richardson (T.A.B): Who also has a very good strike-rate, has found some real value for us this week in the form of Tafadhali – Alexandra Park, race six.
Todd Mitchell: Has opted for Franco Nikau, who was an impressive debut winner last week. He goes around in the fifth race at Alexandra Park tonight.
Zac Butcher: Has gone for Viking Girl as his best bet. She looks some real each-way value in race four at Alexandra Park tonight.
