A feature of the 2012 Victorian Premier Harness Racing Yearling Sale, to be held at the Quest Shepparton Racing Complex, on Sunday, 22nd January, is the large number of Group winning or Group winner-producing mares with progeny in the sale.

The impressive list is headed up by millionaire racemare Tailamade Lombo, who won a dozen races at Group 1 level and was placed in many others, and Lombo La Fe Fe, who won three. Tailamade, the dam of the dual Group 1 winner Aussie Made Lombo, will be represented by a filly by the exciting first-crop sire Kenneth J, while Fe Fe has a filly by the highly successful Modern Art.

Sweet Maddy Lombo, another from the Lombo Standardbreds draft and a winner of the Group 2 Linden Huntley Little, has a filly by the brilliantly fast Stonebridge Regal in the catalogue.

A full sister to the Group 1 winners Led Suitcase (2YO Breeders Crown) and Blissfull Boy (WA Sales Classic) will spearhead the strong draft of leading Goulburn Valley breeder Kevin Newbound.

Lombo Navigator, one of the current stars of WA racing and a multiple Group winner, also has a filly by Blissfull Hall in the catalogue.

The progeny of three American-bred mares will add interest to the sale. Spirited Storm, a 1:59 Artsplace mare, has a Mach Three colt; Pandalay Bay (also by Artsplace) has a No Pan Intended colt and Mitzi M Hanover (by Camluck) an Art Major filly.

The sale boasts no fewer than eleven trotting bred yearlings and they are a very impressive bunch.

Skye Rocket and Rainbow Billie, both winners of the Victorian Oaks, will be represented by colts in the sale; the former has a Muscle Mass and the latter a Lawman.

There’s half-brothers or sisters to the Vicbred champions Rostevarren and Mister Castleton and to the Cups winning trotter Sassy Pinevale and a colts out of the good trotting mares Pinevale Ellason and Poet Laureate.
