The dominance of Nagambie trainer Chris Lang and his team of squaregaiters continued on Wednesday May 21, with the 4-Y-0 Wagon Apollo/New Karamboo mare Karamboo scoring in the Farmhand Trotters Handicap for T0 & T1 class over 2115 metres at Cranbourne.

Driven by son Chris (Jnr), Karamboo began safely to trail the polemarker and pacemaker Dancing Cossack, but when that runner surrendered to his stablemate Lelis Boy, young Lang eased Karamboo away from the markers to race in the open.

Always travelling kindly, Karamboo appeared under pressure approaching the home turn, but rallied strongly on straightening to draw clear over the concluding stages in accounting for the ex-Kiwi Mertlys Louis which did everything right on this occasion after racing three wide in the last lap, with Lelis Boy third.

A full sister to the open class performer Jauriol, Karamboo returned a 2-08.9 mile rate in recording her 4th success in 32 race appearances.
