“Both my brother James and myself are really looking forward to this year’s VDM weekend,” said Oakwood Stud’s Derek Delaney. “Who would have thought when we first came up with the idea of a special race in memory of our younger brother Vincent, that is would develop into such a big event.
“The addition of a filly division this year,” Delaney said, “thanks to sponsors Diamond Creek Farms and Adam Bowden, will make the VDM weekend even greater. I have already been contacted by people from around the world that want to come out for this weekend. I guess you could say we have come up with Ireland’s own version of the Little Brown Jug and the Gold Cup & Saucer!”
