(NEW KENT,VA) - Nuclear Attraction scored a wire to wire victory in Sunday's $5,500 winner's over pacing feature at Colonial Downs and shaved a full second off the 1:49 4/4 previous best he authored a week ago.

The 4 year old Nuclear Breeze gelding faced four other foes including Smile A Little, who was fresh off a new life mark of 1:49 3/5 he set last Sunday as well. Corey Braden, who earned his fourth win of the day aboard Nuclear Attraction, gained control of the field early and never looked back. After early fractions of :26 2/5, :53 3/5 and 1:21.0, he stopped the clock in 1:48 4/5 on a warm and sunny day, 2¾ lengths over runner-up Smile A Little.

Nuclear Attraction is trained by Brian Malone for Orville Harmon of Mappsville, Virginia. In a trio of starts at Philadelphia between July 23rd and August 28th, he finished 8th in all three, losing respectively by 16, 11 and 21 lengths. He is 2-for-2 in Virginia, both in sub 1:50.0 times.

Colonial Downs is dark Monday & Tuesday. Live racing returns on Wednesday with a ten race card beginning at 1:00 PM.
