Veteran reinsman Mike Oosting, who currently sits atop the 2005 driver standings at Balmoral Park, posted his 2000th career victory on Sunday night (October 30) piloting Costly Cadet to victory in the seventh race.
The Fremont, Michigan native who now resides in Beecher, Illinois enjoyed quite a weekend on the Chicago circuit.
In addition to reaching the 2000 win milestone as part of a four win night on Sunday, Oosting also had three victories on Saturday’s Balmoral card.
On Friday night at Maywood Park, he guided Thin Blue Line to an upset win in the $275,000 Windy City Pace and also finished up his night with wins behind Stunner and Caps Classic.ier this month Oosting also had a six-win night at Balmoral.
After basically spending the early part of his career strictly driving his own horses in Michigan, the 43-Year-Old decided to give catch driving a try on the Chicago circuit. Since arriving in 2002 he has posted more than 1,300 wins while amassing more than $11.5 million in purse earnings.
With 330 victories this season Oosting currently ranks 20th in all of North America.
